We’ve never suffered a tragedy of this sort on this scale. None of us thought this kind of thing could happen in Maine — the supposedly safest state in the Union, until now. Maine is a big little state. 1.3 million makes our state a big small town. So, Lewiston is 20 miles away from where I live, but Mainers grieve tonight wherever they live. It’s going to take some time to heal. This was my homily at Mass this morning. Click here to view the homily.
