SAINT JOSEPH’S COLLEGE: President Joseph Cassidy will be guest speaker at the Knights of Columbus Council #2219 dinner/social on Monday, April 28, 2025, at St. Hyacinth Church hall. Doors will open at 6:00, and dinner (menu to be determined) will be served at 6:30. The Knights would like to invite all prospective students to attend this event who think Saint Joseph’s College in Standish is a school to which they might apply for admission. Parents or guardians of prospective students are encouraged to attend as well. Following a short presentation, President Cassidy will attempt to answer any questions the audience might have about costs, admission, commuting, on-campus attendance, areas of study offered (majors), social life, and the like. We are not limiting this invitation to any location or high school. HYACINTH FAMILY FAITH FORMATION, SACRAMENTS & YOUTH MINISTRY: Meets the 1st Sunday of each month at 4:30pm in the church hall. Sacraments class meets the 3rd Sunday of each month at 10:30am (after Mass) in the church hall.
Sacraments class will have Reconciliation on Sunday, March 17, 2024 after the 9:30 am Mass.
ST. HYACINTH CHILDREN’S LITURGY Sunday at 9:30 Mass. All children ages 1-8, children over 8 can be helpers. Parents are encouraged to come down with younger children.
REMINDER – CONFIRMATION AND 1ST COMMUNION: Every child must complete a two-year Sacrament Preparation Process (regardless of his/ her grade and/or age) that includes formation opportunities for parents/guardians. This policy is required of all parishes/clusters throughout the Diocese of Portland. ➢ Sacrament Preparation Process - Year 1 – Initial formation in the faith * For children in First (1st) grade and those in Second (2nd) grade when they are just beginning a Faith Formation program. * Sacrament Preparation Year 1, NOT First (1st) Grade. ➢ Sacrament Preparation Process - Year 2 – Immediate preparation for Sacraments * For children who have completed Sacrament Preparation Year 1.
